The StimulEyes Success Story of Dr. Monica Martocci, O.D.
I have been an eye-care provider for nearly 30 years. During that time, I have used a variety of products – both prescription and over-the-counter – to help treat my patients with dry eye.
One particular patient, a female in her 50’s, had been experiencing moderate-severe dry eyes for more than 5 years. We initially began with quality, non-preserved artificial tears, as well as increasing omega-3 in her diet. Quickly we realized that this was not going to be sufficient. The Refresh with Omega 3 non-preserved tears worked the best, but still not adequate. Her eyes continued to be extremely injected, burned, and were disrupting her life. To make matters worse, this patient is a sales representative who meets with clients regularly. We added Restasis twice daily, continued with supplemental artificial tears and a warm heat mask. Multiple variations of this treatment were done over the next several years, including the trial of Xiidra and Lipiflow eyelid treatment. We added Lumify, as needed, for cosmetic concerns. Nothing really worked.
After doing my research, and speaking with a company representative, I agreed to have my patient try StimulEyes. The thought of discontinuing all other drops worried both of us. She began using the drops twice per day, and for the first 2-3 weeks she was not having any success. We held off adding OTC drops and in a matter of another 7-10 days, relief finally happened. She has now been using StimulEyes for almost 3 months, and I can honestly say that I have never seen her eyes look this good. Her corneas are clear, and her conjunctiva is finally white and quiet. She no longer needs to carry multiple bottles of eye drops or use Lumify before seeing clients. She is maintaining a twice daily regimen, whether coincidental or not, she has not yet needed her OTC allergy drops.
I am very impressed with the results of StimulEyes eyedrops. Having the flexibility to adjust the dosage, either up or down, and possibly add an OTC drop, if needed, is important. Neither the patient nor I, are concerned about her using these drops long term. It is nice to know that there is another product in my armament for patients with moderate-severe evaporative dry eye. I would not hesitate to use it again or recommend to others.
